CHÂTEAU REYNAUD LACOSTE

Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc

“White Bordeaux is all too often overshadowed by the region's great reds. The Sauvignon is truly remarkable. And this one is the epitome of a hidden gem”

Wine Information

About the wine

This is made purely from Sauvignon Blanc. But the grape has different flavours from what you may expect in New Zealand. Here, it's more subtle. Unusually for a white wine, this is made in contact with its skins (a practice common in red winemaking) before being rested on its lees. This makes for a textured, more full-bodied white wine with plenty of character. Great with asparagus risotto.

About the producer

Château Reynaud Lacoste sits in the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation and has been in the Lacoste family for six generations. The winemaker today is Benoît Lacoste, who is passionate about environmentally friendly practices.

About the region

This estate is in Entre-deux-Mers, a region that sits between two very famous rivers, the Garonne and the Dordogne. These act as all-important cooling influences for Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the ripening period. This brings delicate aromatics to your glass while retaining a balancing acidity.
