This organic wine shows that you can get exceptional Pinot Noir outside of Burgundy. To keep the fresh flavours, the grapes behind it are harvested at night - the cold temperatures preserve their freshness and acidity. The wine then sees just a touch of oak to dial up the texture but maintain the fruit-forward nature. Try it with roast chicken.
About the producer
Laurent Delaunay is the fifth generation of Burgundy winemakers. But he broke with tradition and found his winemaking haven in the Languedoc 20 years ago. True to his roots, he specialises in Pinot Noir, and many of his wines are big hits with Majestic customers.
About the region
Pinot Noir may not dominate the headlines in Languedoc, but Laurent's is a benchmark for the region. To create this, he works with choice organic grape growers with particular soils on their vineyards - this grape variety thrives on limestone soils, and this brings you a more complex wine.
