GAÏA DE FORTANT

Coteaux d’Aix en Provence

“As well as the tried-and-trusted favourites, France's strength is also in the unexpected – you might not associate Provence with white wines. But that only makes this organic blend all the better.”

Wine Information

About the wine

This blend is fermented at low temperatures and aged in concrete and stainless steel to enhance the flavour without disrupting the citrusy, floral notes of two expressive grape varieties, Vermentino (known locally as Rolle) and Grenache Blanc. This is great with vegan dishes, like ratatouille, but also just as good with white meats.

About the producer

Fortant, a celebrated winery, and Jean-Luc Rabanel, a two-Michelin-star chef, have joined forces to create wines that pair perfectly with organic, vegetarian Provençal food. They've produced four crisp cuvées with light aromas that harmonise with his vegetable-based dishes. This is our favourite.

About the region

Provence is the home of the pale-pink style of rosé that's enjoyed and respected worldwide. Just 5% of the wine made in its western appellation, Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, is white. But if you scratch the surface, you can find something left-of-field and fantastic, like this delicious blend.
