LA PEYRIÈRE

Entre-Deux-Mers

"White Bordeaux is all too often overshadowed by the region's reds. The Sauvignon-dominated blends here are truly remarkable. And this one is the epitome of a hidden gem"

ELIZABETH KELLY MW

Wine Information

About the wine

This is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sémillon and 5% of a lesser-known grape, Muscadelle. Half of the blend is aged in oak on its lees for up to 4 months. This process creates a textured, slightly rich wine – a far cry from much of the Sauvignon Blanc you find in New Zealand. Try it with fish or soft cheeses.

About the producer

Producta Vignobles was born out of a cooperative winemaking movement. They've specialised in producing wine in Bordeaux since 1949. Marie Acier has been in charge of their winemaking for more than 20 years. And she certainly knows how to get the best from the region's native grape varieties.

About the region

Entre-deux-Mers sits between two very famous rivers, the Garonne and the Dordogne. These act as all-important cooling influences for Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the ripening period. This brings delicate aromatics to your glass while retaining a balancing acidity.
