About the wine
This wine is made from 100% Corvina grapes – the grape variety that plays a main part in Valpolicella. Corvina’s trademark characteristic is its zingy red cherry flavour. No oak has been used so that the emphasis is on its vibrant fruit character for a fresh, approachable style.
About the producer
Cantina Valpantena is one of the most successful cooperatives in Italy. A cooperative is when winemakers, grape growers and expert viticulturists come together to make the very most of the fruit of the land. This Corvina, among some of their other wines, has also been crafted in collaboration with internationally-recognised winemaker Matt Thompson.
About the region
Veneto benefits from steep rolling hills and an Alpine influence. This gives vines plenty of sunlight with an important cooling effect that slows ripening and gives grapes plenty of time to reach optimum flavour richness and complexity.
