TENUTA OLIM BAUDA
‘Era’ Barbera D'Asti
ELIZABETH KELLY MW
Wine Information
About the wine
Tenuta Olim Bauda forgoes the use of oak entirely in the making of this wine. The result? A fresh, fruit-forward style of Barbera with plenty of delicious unfiltered character.
About the producer
The estate was run by the Bertolino family from the 1960s until 1985 when Sr. Bertolino tragically died. The thriving winery had no option but to close down. Then, in 2000, the three children he had left behind – Dino, Diana and Gianni – embarked on reviving the estate. Today, Tenuta Olim Bauda is one of Piemonte’s most renowned producers.
About the region
Piedmont is a historic winemaking region, and it’s here, high up in the picturesque hills of Olim Bauda’s vineyards, that grapes are able to ripen slowly and luxuriously in the warm sun.
