About the wine

Friulano is an Italian white wine made from the grape with the same name. It’s also known as Sauvignon Vert and was widely mistaken for Sauvignon Blanc when it was first planted throughout Chile. This wine is made without any use of oak-ageing to emphasise the grape’s freshness.

 

About the producer

Friuli was once dominated by small wineries which meant it didn’t always attract the attention of larger producers. Cantina Puiatti’s significant investment in these sites’ restoration has been transformative for the region. Cantina Puiatti was founded by Vittorio Puiatti in 1967. From its conception, the producer has led the way in marrying Italian tradition with modern innovation – the very same spirit it’s known for today.

 

About the region

Fruili-Venezia Giulia borders Slovenia and Austria in Italy’s northeastern corner. Cool sea breezes and consistent sunshine helps to create a unique microclimate. This gives Friulano a steady ripening period, building flavour while locking in acidity giving it its distinctive, revitalising finish.
