ZACCAGNINI

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi

“Verdicchio is a too-often overlooked wine hailing from central Italy that is an essential pitstop on a wine tour of the country. This bottle is made by true specialists of the style, the Zaccagnini family, and captures it in all its unique elegance.”

Wine Information

About the wine

Casa Lisa’s Verdicchio is made with sustainable practices that ensure it shows the Marche region’s capability for creating white wines with great freshness and complexity. Verdicchio is the most widely planted white grape variety in Marche, making it integral to the history of the land.

About the producer

The Casa Lisa winery is run by Rosella Zaccagnini and her husband, though it was Rosella’s father who first discovered the vineyards. Today, they produce delicious wines and run a charming ‘agroturismo’ where guests are invited to get a taste of the Marche region. From their pristine vines to Rosella’s husband’s fantastic regional cooking, they capture just what makes Italian wine and food such a perfect pair.

About the region

Casa Lisa can be found within the ancient rolling hills of the Marche region, between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. The influence of both can result in notably cooler parts that allow Verdicchio grapes to ripen slowly so that once they’re ripe, they’re filled with flavour. The winery itself is built over an ancient Roman salt mine, which is thought to enhance the grape’s natural hint of saltiness.
