TENUTA MORAIA

Vermentino

“This wine is a fantastic opportunity to taste the indigenous Italian Vermentino grape from a winery at the wild frontier of Tuscany.”

ELIZABETH KELLY MW

Wine Information

About the wine

The Vermentino grape is distinctly light and fresh – depending on where it’s from, it has been known to be mistaken for Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are carefully pressed and the wine is then aged on its lees (a natural by-product of grape fermentation) for three months. This smoothens its texture and deepens its flavours.

About the producer

At the heart of Tenuta Moraia wines is a desire to showcase a rejuvenated expression of long adored Italian grape varieties with modern, organic winemaking practices at their core.

About the region

Maremma DOC is a coastal spot in southern Tuscany, as beautiful as it is unique. It gained the nickname ‘the wild west’ for its relatively recent emergence on the wine stage, following a long history of swamp-like land. It’s wasted no time in creating its fantastic reputation.
