About the wine
The wine consists of partially-dried and hand- picked Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. It’s fermented for 30 days to ensure the optimum amount of tannin and character can be drawn out. Following this, it’s aged for 24 months in premium oak to soften the texture and introduce notes of vanilla and spice. It’s then kept for a further 6 months in the bottle to make for a beautifully integrated wine.
About the producer
Le Arche is an impressive Veneto project that was created by Silvano and Luigi Piacentini. They’ve invested in some top oenological staff including Armando Vasco and Giorgio Barbera, who heads the winemaking. Barbera has over 20 years of experience across Italy and is behind some of the country’s most critically acclaimed wines at Barolo’s esteemed Cantina Gemma.
About the region
Veneto benefits from steep rolling hills and an Alpine influence. This gives vines plenty of sunlight with an important cooling effect that slows ripening and gives grapes plenty of time to reach optimum flavour, richness and complexity.
